Letters from Palestinian Children Written to American Children

page 1

Dear American kids,

My name is Alaa. I am in 6th grade. I like to read. I was happy when I heard that the Internationals were coming. We are learning very much with them, especially our teacher Cathy. And we are playing many games with her and it is wonderful. We are happy for the first time since the occupation in our village. And when we were sleeping we heard the sound of bullets from armored vehicles. But now we are forgetting the sound of bullets from the armored vehicles and we are thinking of the summer camp and forgetting the occupation of our village. And I am very happy because I see the smiles on the children's lips.

The Palestinian children and people have much sadness, but we are very strong. But we cannot do anything when Deir Ibzi'a is under siege. But the Internationals came. We are happy because we are learning. The Israelis are overpowering and they are killing many Palestinian children and they want to take Jerusalem away. And the country of Israel is not good. Thank you very much.
